MARK DUNHAM
Mark’s passing was a huge loss for everyone at Bobbi and the Strays. His kindness, compassion and advocacy for the animals…especially the cats…is unmatched.
Mark was a gentle man who had a heart of gold. He felt at home amongst his friends and felines in the Cat Room and went out of his way to ensure that the cats’ needs were always met. His generosity extended to personally donating needed supplies if necessary. He was a humble man who had an unselfish nature. Mark always had a smile and a kind word for those he worked with and for potential adopters searching for kitty companions. He radiated joy when talking about his wonderful cat buddies. He was also happy to strike up a conversation about hockey or football with sports lovers at the shelter! We were lucky to have him at the Freeport shelter for 11 years.
Mark wasn’t a driver and would take public transportation as well as walk great distances to get to the shelter. Nothing stopped him. Fueled by his dedication, Mark would walk through rainstorms, snowstorms, hurricanes and floods to get to his cats.
Mark’s spirit will always be felt at Bobbi and the Strays…especially in the Cat Room. He was a good man, a kind and compassionate soul who is greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
Rest in peace, Mark
