King
As you may know, we lost King on April 1, 2019. Whether it was a result of his surgery for a liver shunt, or another issue, we will never know. So many of us at the shelter were devastated. King was many things…adorable, feisty, happy-go-lucky, sometimes even a little fresh…the perfect mix in my book. We never got to see what the future held for King, but the thought of having him spend eternity categorized as “Unadopted” didn’t feel right. Last week, Cheryl Swanburg Monahan and I posthumously “Adopted” King. His file was stamped and he will officially be known as adopted. The paperwork was a formality. In our hearts, he was already ours.
