Say hello to Lewis!

He is a Shi tzu mix who is approximately 4 years old.  This poor little guy was recently pulled from a municipal shelter by our rescue.  Lewis was in extremely bad shape when we first met him.  Here is his story:

Lewis was first spotted on a street in Queens a few weeks ago but couldn’t be caught.   A short while later, our rescue became aware that this poor boy was at the NYC Animal Care and Control center and took the necessary steps to secure his safety. We wanted to give this little dog all the care and love he so obviously needed.
Under our care, Lewis has been completely shaved down.  His skin was filled with sores and flakes from all the matting on his poor little body.  His eyes were infected and the wax in his ears was so thick, it came out in huge chunks. He is currently being treated for an extreme case of dermatitis and needs to see the vet for his eye and ear infections.  In addition, due to his poor body condition, little Lewis was unable to be neutered at the ACC center and will be going to our vet for this surgery as soon as his little body is healed.

Lewis is the sweetest little boy and we are saddened by the fact that his previous humans neglected him to such a degree.  He will now be receiving all the love and care that he needs.
