Thea

Say hello to Thea!
She is a stunning 6 year old Torbie and white kitty who was rescued from a city shelter and is now safe with us.

Thea’s story is a very sad one…

Thea came from a home where her caretaker sadly passed away.  Her husband, knowing how much his wife loved her cats,  continued to care for them and even took in more cats.  There was a total of 43 cats in the home.   Tragically, the house caught fire and the owner was moved to a hotel.  He later wrote a letter to a neighbor requesting that she take care of the cats for him and then committed suicide.  The police were called and all of the cats were picked up by NYC Animal Care & Control. Councilman Robert Holden reached out to Bobbi for help. Bobbi and the Strays has taken in 8 of these cats in an effort to help with this desperate situation.  Thea is one of the eight cats who are now in need of new homes.

Thea is spayed, negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines.  She would love to begin her new life in a forever home with a patient and kind new owner.

You can meet this sweet girl at our Freeport location, 2 Rider Place.

Thank you for your interest in Thea!
