Say hello to Skyler!
He is a handsome 2 year old boy who came from a city shelter and is now safe with us. This guy is very shy and fearful right now. The world as he knew it has been turned upside down. He could really use a friend. With lots of love and patience, he will regain the confidence he once had.
Skyler’s story is a very sad one…
Skyler came from a home where his caretaker sadly passed away. Her husband, knowing how much his wife loved her cats, continued to care for them and even took in more cats. There was a total of 43 cats in the home. Tragically, the house caught fire and the owner was moved to a hotel. He later wrote a letter to a neighbor requesting that she take care of the cats for him and then committed suicide. The police were called and all of the cats were picked up by NYC Animal Care & Control. Councilman Robert Holden reached out to Bobbi for help. Bobbi and the Strays has taken in 8 of these cats in an effort to help with this desperate situation. Skyler is one of the eight cats who are now in need of new homes.
Skyler is neutered, negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines. He will do best in an adults only home with an experienced cat owner. Skyler would love to begin his new life in a forever home with a patient and kind new owner.
You can meet this good looking guy at our Atlas location, 80-36 Cooper Ave., Glendale.
