Say hello to Rocca!

She is a 2 year old beautiful solid gray girl who was rescued from a city shelter and is now safe with us.

Rocca’s story is a very sad one…

Rocca came from a home where her caretaker sadly passed away.  Her husband, knowing how much his wife loved her cats,  continued to care for them and even took in more cats.  There was a total of 43 cats in the home.   Tragically, the house caught fire and the owner was moved to a hotel.  He later wrote a letter to a neighbor requesting that she take care of the cats for him and then committed suicide.  The police were called and all of the cats were picked up by NYC Animal Care & Control. Councilman Robert Holden reached out to Bobbi for help. Bobbi and the Strays has taken in 8 of these cats in an effort to help with this desperate situation.  Rocca is one of the eight cats who are now in need of  new homes.

Rocca is waiting for her second chance at a good life with someone who is patient and kind.  She is frightened right now as her world has been turned upside down, and is being given lots of love and attention to help her adjust.  She will be just fine very soon.

Rocca is spayed, negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines.

You can meet this beautiful cat at our Freeport location, 2 Rider Place.

Thank you for your interest in Rocca!
