Meet Mama

Mama is a beautiful 10-year-old grey Domestic Shorthair who has been through more than most cats ever should, yet she continues to show just how resilient she is.  This lovely girl is completely blind after recently undergoing bilateral enucleation (eye removal) surgery due to severe infections in both eyes. Despite her blindness, Mama has quickly learned to navigate her space, uses her litter box consistently, and has a very strong appetite. The second she hears a can opening, she comes running to her bowl!

Mama’s Story

Mama was originally trapped as part of our TNR efforts. We knew she needed to be spayed and were also concerned about her right eye. Once vetted, Mama was spayed and vaccinated, but unfortunately, both eyes needed to be removed due to severe infections that were likely causing her significant pain and affecting her vision.  Thankfully she recovered beautifully and is now in a foster home where she is learning to feel comfortable and social. She enjoys listening to her foster family’s voices, spending time out in the room, and is beginning to seek them out for food and treats. She will even accept treats from their hands.

Mama is looking for a patient, loving owner who understands she may need extra time to feel comfortable and confident. She is learning, adapting, and enjoying life, and we believe her best chapter is still ahead of her.  This petite beauty is spayed, up to date on vaccines,  fiv/felv negative and available for adoption.
